Semester 1 Blizzard Bag #2 - December 2, 2019

Hello Sculpture students!  Today is your second Blizzard Bag day this year.  Please read below and complete the assignment that is for your class.


Sculpture 1 Class
B Block and C Block

FOUND OBJECT SCULPTURE:
Create a 3-dimensional sculpture of a “creature” from at least 15 objects found around your home.

PROCESS:
1. Collect at least 15 objects from around your home.  Example: Recyclables, kitchen utensils, desk items, pens, socks, shoes, sports equipment, jewelry, toys…
2. Experiment with assembling objects to create a 3-dimensional creature.  Experiment with the best use of material to hold pieces together.  Use twist ties, string, wire, glue, tape…whatever works
3. Assemble final sculpture meeting the above requirements
4. Take a "selfie" with your completed sculpture and email your picture to Mrs. Smith at ksmith@govwentworth.k12.nh.us OR bring your sculpture with you to class.

Sculpture Blizzard Bag - Relief Face Sculpture

Create a relief sculpture of a face using at least 15 objects found in your home

Your sculpture must:
  1. Be a relief sculpture (ie: flat background with a raised surface).
  2. Represent a human or animal face
  3. Be made of at least 15 objects found in your home. (nuts, bolts, food, kitchen appliances, desk stuff, jewelry, tools...)

Once you have completed your relief sculpture, take a “selfie” with it.  You can email your picture to me at ksmith@govwentworth.k12.nh.us or show me a picture at school the next day but you must be in the picture as well.

If it's a Blizzard Bag day...

If we do not have school on Wednesday, January 30, please complete the following work for your third and final Blizzard Bag assignment this semester.


Advanced Drawing & Painting / Portfolio 1 Classes:

You all should have brought home something to work on for class. Advanced Drawing & Painting students have figure painting and perspective drawings to work on.  Portfolio students  have independent projects to work on such as your final exam google presentations or completing your art projects.

Choose 1 of the following options:

1.  Complete any make up work that you brought home with you, such as your art parody or perspective drawings 

OR

2.  2019 Arts Knight Program Cover Design

Create a black & white cover design for the Arts Knight Program
that uses art and music imagery to emphasize Arts Knight 2019.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
EMPHASIS:  Cover design for Arts Knight Program
BALANCE:  Full space of 8x5.5” paper should be used
UNITY:  Imagery and words relate to Arts Knight 2019 activities:  musical
performances and art works on display grades 7 -12
CONTRAST: Strong contrast between black and white imagery
PROPORTION: Thoughtful and successful use of size of lettering and imagery
CREATIVITY AND ORIGINALITY: Push yourself out of your comfort zone.  
Create something new.
QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP:  Neatness counts!  Erase any visible
pencil marks.  Consistent use of materials
PROCESS: Follow the directions of the project
1. Use pencil to draw your idea on piece of paper that is 8” tall by 5.5” wide
2. Make sure your cover design says Arts Knight 2019 and has imagery
related to music and/or art
3. Use black marker or black pen to outline and color in shapes
4. Erase any visible pencil marks

The most successful design(s) will be displayed on
the cover of the 2019 Arts Knight Program.
